Terms of Use
Effective from
1. What Satpātra is, and is not
Satpātra (satpatra.in) is an online directory. Organisations publish information about themselves, and supporters may donate to them directly through the organisation's own UPI ID or website. Satpātra is not a charity, trust, fundraiser, payment service, escrow or agent of any organisation. It does not collect, hold, route or refund money, and charges no fees. By using the site you accept these terms.
2. Review and the orange tick
- We look at each listing before it appears, to check it appears genuine and fits the site.
- An orange tick means that, on the date we checked, we saw the organisation's registration documents and confirmed its UPI ID shows the organisation's name.
- Neither review nor the tick is an audit, guarantee, certification or endorsement of an organisation, its claims, or how it uses funds. Organisations can change after we check them.
3. If you donate
- Donations are voluntary and made at your own judgement and risk. Check the payee name your UPI app shows before you pay.
- Receipts, tax certificates (such as 80G), refunds and any questions about a donation must be taken up with the organisation. Satpātra cannot reverse, refund or trace payments.
- Please report any listing you believe is false or misleading to us (section 9).
4. If you list an organisation
By submitting a listing you confirm and agree that:
- You are 18 or over and authorised to act and raise funds for the organisation.
- Everything you submit is true, complete and kept up to date, including amounts raised.
- The UPI ID and donation link belong to the organisation, not to an individual.
- Donations will be used only for the purpose described, and receipts will be issued on request.
- You will claim only tax benefits (such as 80G) your organisation actually holds.
- You will follow all applicable Indian laws, including the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010, and will not accept foreign contributions unless permitted.
- You are solely responsible for your listing and for funds you receive, and you will indemnify Satpātra against any claim, loss or penalty arising from your listing, your conduct or your use of donations.
5. Content not allowed
Listings must not contain anything that is false or misleading; impersonates another person or organisation; is defamatory, obscene or hateful; promotes violence, enmity between groups, or illegal activity; infringes anyone's rights; or is otherwise unlawful under Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it.
6. Advertisements
Satpātra may show advertisements, always clearly labelled "Advertisement". Advertisers are solely responsible for their advertisements and for any product, service or offer in them. An advertisement is not an endorsement by Satpātra, and any dealing with an advertiser is between you and the advertiser. We do not accept advertisements that are misleading, or that promote alcohol, tobacco, gambling, betting, adult content, or anything disrespectful to Sanātan Dharma or unlawful in India, and we may remove any advertisement at any time.
7. Our rights
We may refuse, hide or remove any listing, or remove an orange tick, at any time and without giving reasons. We will act on valid orders from courts and government authorities, and may share information with them where the law requires.
8. No warranties; limit of liability
The site is provided free and "as is". We do not guarantee that listings are accurate or that the site will always be available. Satpātra acts as an intermediary and is not responsible for information posted by organisations. To the fullest extent the law allows, Satpātra and the people who run it are not liable for any loss or damage arising from a donation, from reliance on any listing, or from use of the site.
9. Contact and grievances
For complaints under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, or about any listing, write to:

We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continued use of the site means you accept the updated terms.
