Privacy Policy
Effective from
1. Who we are
Satpātra (satpatra.in) is a free online directory that lets Sanātan organisations describe their work, so that supporters can donate to them directly. Satpātra does not collect, hold or transfer donations. In this policy, "we" means Satpātra.
2. Supporters and donors
You can browse and donate without an account. We do not ask for or store your name, phone number, email, bank or payment details. When you pay by UPI or on an organisation's own website, the payment happens between you and the organisation; it never passes through Satpātra and we cannot see it. Your language choice is saved only on your own device.
Anonymous visit count. We count how many visits the site gets each day, so we know whether it is useful. To count each browser once a day, your device keeps only the date of your last visit. The count is a single number per day; it is not linked to your name, account, device identity or IP address, and we use no cookies for it. Only the site administrator can see these numbers.
Advertisements. Any advertisement on the site is shown to everyone in the same way. It is not chosen using your data, and the advertiser receives no information about you from us. If you click an advertisement, you leave Satpātra and the advertiser's own privacy policy applies.
3. Organisations that list on Satpātra
We collect only what is needed to run your listing:
- Your Google sign-in email and name. Kept private. Used only to let you manage your listing and to contact you about it.
- The listing details you submit (organisation name, place, category, registration number, description, goal, amounts, UPI ID, account name, donation link and public contact). These are published on the site, because that is the purpose of a listing.
- Documents you email us for verification. Used only to check your organisation and deleted within 30 days of the check.
By submitting a listing and ticking the consent box, you consent to this use. You can withdraw consent at any time by removing your listing (see section 7).
4. We do not share your data
We do not sell, rent, trade or share personal data with anyone for their own purposes. Two narrow exceptions apply:
- Service providers that run the site for us. The site, database (including the anonymous visit count) and sign-in are hosted on Google Firebase (Google Cloud), which processes data only on our instructions to operate the service. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and a QR-code tool from cdnjs (Cloudflare); these see your device's IP address when the page loads, as any website does.
- When the law requires it, for example a valid court order or a lawful request from a government authority in India.
5. Storage and security
Data is stored with Google Cloud and may be processed on servers outside India, as the law permits. All connections use encryption (HTTPS). Database rules ensure an organisation can change only its own listing, and only the site administrator can see sign-in emails. If a personal data breach occurs, we will inform those affected and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
6. How long we keep data
We keep listing details and sign-in details only while your listing exists. When you remove your listing, both are deleted from our database straight away. Google may keep encrypted backups for a short period under its own policies.
7. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can:
- See and correct your data at any time on the "Edit listing" page.
- Erase your data and withdraw consent by using "Remove my listing", or by writing to us.
- Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights for you in case of death or incapacity.
- Raise a grievance by writing to us (section 9). If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
8. Children
Listings must be created by adults (18 or over) authorised to act for the organisation. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Contact and grievances
Email:
We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days. For general questions, write to .
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how we use organisations' data, we will tell listed organisations by email first.
